Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What was originally a 2016 holiday read turned into 2017 Valentine’s and then 2017 Summer book. It took me longer than usual to finish the book not because it bores me but because adult responsibilities took over. Just like Nell in “Paris for One”, Sara in “Love in the Afternoon”, Sam of “Crocodile Shoes” and even Chrissie of “The Christmas List” — Yes. Jojo Moyes’ stories about these women are not only witty, they speak what real life is all about. I can name a lot of drown-me-in-fantasy books but it’s very refreshing to find 12 pages of hey-this-is-the-real-world short stories.

And one of the truest book quotes: “There’s something deliciously decadent about stealing away in daylight hours when the rest of the world was working.”

  • “Try again. Fail again. Fail better.”
  • “You don’t ever do something just because it makes you feel good?”
  • “Live in the moment”
  • “Take life by the horns”
  • “You are whoever you choose to be.”
  • “Don’t waste ten years of your life worrying about what might happen. None of us can afford to lose time.”
