Day 2: Matsushima & Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture

Choosing which places to visit in this 23-day trip was easy — we just have to find out which Starbucks Japan Geography Series mug we don’t have yet. That led us to Sendai. Then to a YouTube vlog about Sendai, which also included a tip on Matsushima. The process was like finding Japan’s hidden gems! 💎
Sendai is 1hr away from Utsunomiya (which is 1hr away from Tokyo) via shinkansen. Midway through the ride, we figured out we’d rather explore Matsushima, it being 1 of the 3 Nihon Sankei: Japan’s 3 Most Scenic Places. The other one is Miyajima which we got to visit Dec 2018.
